hi all, i picked up a 46" deck for my 316k this past weekend, its missing both the pulley cover plate and, go figure, its tag with model #. how can i figure out the model number in order to buy parts for my deck? I've seen a few different types of 46" decks out there

Do you have a picture of it? Do you know if its a 140-, 300 K-, or 300 O/Y series mower deck?

don't have a pic of it yet, it came off of a 317, but i really don't know if it was original to that tractor either...

Look @ all of the decks in the JD catalog and find all the parts you need. I write down the P/N's and then search/shop for the best price & shipping. :goodl:

a ha! i believe it is a "PC1935 46-in mid mount rotary mower for 300 series tractors" thanks for the help! now i just need to find pulley cover plates in decent shape. JD still sells them, for like $200+ yikes

If it came off a 317 it should be an H046. If from a newer 316 w/onan the it should be a M0673, which is the 46" model for the 316,318 or 332(330). you are right, parts for older machines are getting expensive.

That's why I do searches for the best deals.. You can be amazed what you can find if you look in the right places!! :dunno:
