How the X7XX hydraulics operate

I know I saw a link on here, but I can't remember what to search for. I am looking for the one that explains how all of the rear, mid and front hydraulics work with the two levers.

Can you operate the rear lift with the mower deck mounted?

Thanks
Jon

I don't have a 3PH on mine (yet) but from what I understand the 3PH moves up and down with the deck unless you set the depth stop on the hitch to keep it locked in one position.
You can leave the deck on while using the rear lift, but it's going to move up and down unless you put it all the way up and turn your grass cutting height knob all the way so it can't go back down.

Correct. They use the same cylinder.

What I know so far. The X series has 2 control levers, the upper and lower.
The UPPER one controls the Lift/Lower of the 3PT Hitch, the MM Mower, yellow/silver SCV that controls the Front Hitch Angle or the Snow Blower chute rotation.
The LOWER one controls the black/green SCV that controls the Front Hitch Lift/Lower.
You can limit the motion of the 3pt by locking it in the up position with a screw allowing the mower to lift faster. I think the mower can also be locked up. I have not used mine yet.
When using the SCV you lock out the mower lift and the 3Pt with the valve allowing the front hitch or a FEL to move faster.
Having less then 10 hours on my machine I may be wrong.

Can you lock the 3ph in one spot let's say the middle or does it have to be all the way up to lock it from moving with the deck?

You can lock thee 3pt all the way up or any other position, but it will still try to raise up. Lock is probably misleading you are limiting the travel from full up to any position down to full down. Clear as mud?
Like a mower. You can always lift the mower all the way up. But the grass height control stops travel down.
Like Lou said, all you can do is limit down travel. If you set the stop in the middle, it'll still travel back and forth from the middle to the top limit.
Got it :thanku: guy's!
Thanks! The deck moves a little up and down when you have it in the highest postion, and the 3ph does work as described.

Pardon my ignorance as I have never seen an x7xx in person, but would it be possible to put a lock out valve on one of the cylinders? I put one on my my 318 rear cylinder so that the response of the plow angle cylinder is faster as the two are on the same hydraulic circut. I think the lock out valve was an option from JD on the 3xx tractors.

Yes, there's a lockout valve option like you're talking about. However, that doesn't change anything regarding this issue. :fing32:

The Front hitch includes the Lock Out Valve that locks out the CYLINDER that is common to the mower and 3PT. I just learned something new.:thanku:
