How often and what time of day do you water??

If we have no rain for say a week with full sun I tend to give my garden a good amount of water from my garden hose every two or three days.What do others feel is the right amount of watering??.I tend to water late in the day when the sun is going down.

Late in the day for me. Don't have time in the mornings to turn it off when it has run long enough.
