Hi I am in need of help so I thought I would go to the experts. I am clearing out my Fathers property, and have found many pieces of horse drawn equipment. I am not sure what all the pieces are and was hoping that if I post pictures someone might be able to tell me what they are and what they might be worth. We are trying to get money to pay for his alzheimers care. Any help would be greatly appreaciate. The sickle mowers I know are case because they say it on top. Today I found what looks like another 10 to 15 pieces in a massive berry briar patch. I will post pictures of what I find if anyone is interested. There are also misc wheels with axles who knows what they came from, my Dad and grandfather were firm believers of never throw it out...Thank you Kathy :thanku:

Maybe I'm mistaken but all of that stuff looks like old drawbar equipment from the thirties and forties. I don't know if anyone collects implements like that. Perhaps you should check to see if you have a local agricultural museum and talk to them. Some museums will allow you to give these items to them in exchange for tax deduction receipt.

Another source would be local auctioneers that specialize in farm auctions. They would know what the demand for such pieces would be and could give you a ball-park value. Maybe they would take them in on a consignment basis and hold them until they conduct an auction large enough and correct enough to include them so they brought decent value.

Kathy, that looks like a nice collection, I wish you was closer to me!! Good luck with it.

ALSO, good luck with your Father, I know first-hand that alzheimers is a nasty demon. (My Mom passed last Nov., she was in latter stages of dementia & alzheimers.) You'll be in my prayers.
