Thanks for looking in to my post,i currently maintain a football pitch here in the uk and funds are very very low.I wonder if anyone's made a dragmat that could be towed with a lawn tractor,done a search on google but can't seem to find any info on what is the best way to build one.Can anyone give me any advice or point me to a site that shows me how to build one,if the club had the money we would just buy one

Depending on how big your lawn tractor is will depend on how big to make it.. Anything from a old mattress with springs in it to a 6 foot piece of chain link fence. You will need some weight at the front edge to keep it on the ground while pulling it. Darn near anything works..

Use 1 1/2" or 2" pipe at the front and back of a chain link fence works great. Most any type of woven or welded fencing material will work. You could also use angle iron or channel the weight is what you need to keep it flat.

Just like Don said I have used fence for drag mats on a couple of different fields. Eye bolts towards the ends of the pipe or even 2x4 and some fence and you should be good.

I made a frame 6' x 12' out of angles from old beds. Bolted a chain fence 6' x 12'
to it. I am using it to drag my hard clay garden tractor pulling track. I have to put about 6 or 8 cement blocks on it and it works great. I can pull it with any one of my garden tractors. Right after our pull are done i drag it good so when i water it, it smooths right out. Paul
