Hello everyone I am from Michigan and I am looking into trying to research for a GT that fits my needs and perhaps some wants too.

I am in Michigan as well just south of Battle Creek. Good to see you. Where are you at and what are you planning to do with your GT? I just bought a JD x738 used and will be taking care of about 4 acres of mowing and other odds and ends.
I am actually just west of Battle Creek, in Hickory Corners near Gull Lake.

I have 10 acres of land, most if it is woods. I have less than care that I currently mow. I also have about a 1,000ft gravel driveway. I want to be able to mow, haul wood, dirt, plow snow, grade the driveway with a box blade.

I am actually thinking that an Sub-Compact might be the better way to go than just a GT. Been looking into the JD 1000 or 2000 series and the Kubota BX series. Looked a little into the Kioti's as well.

Any thoughts?

Welcome Kayenx,

You should probably start a thread in the right forum, on buying, to get the folks on here to help.

I'm thinking you need a CUT for that much woods and drive.
I got the x738 for mowing the 4 acres and maintenance around the property - wood clean up and such (light duty for now). I have 160 acres total, 110 of which is farmland that we lease to a farmer. About 45 is woods and some swampy areas. The rest is where the house is and barns and good ole grass to mow. For now the x738 is going to do me good around the house and some trips into the woods to clean up blow downs and fence rows. In another 10 years I will get a SCUT probably, depends on my relationship with my JD dealer and how much time I have. Should be retired in 13 years so time and discretionary money hopefully will be on my side.

I would think a SCUT with the front end loader would help with snow plowing, the box blade will help with the gravel driveway. All other attachments would be gravy! Look into a Carry-All for the rear 3-point hitch. Could easily create firewood carry box!

I have a cousin who volunteer firefights for Ross Twp/Augusta. Great area to live in. Enjoy the spring/summer.
