Hello all,

I'm working on a pull behind mower my issue is i have a few horizontal shaft motors and no vertical. I'd like to use the Honda GX390 i have but need a solution.

i have looked and googled and haven't found the right wording to get a setup that uses a belt that changes drive plane from horizontal to vertical.

I could of swore i seen this before but can't find any information on it.

Ideas?

Well all the older GTs like Case, Cub Cadet, Sears, John Deere, etc. had horizontal shaft engines that belt drive the mower decks using what I think is called a mule drive which is just 2 pulleys mounted a certain way. If i had a photo I would post it but I dont have one at this time. The thing is the engine has to be mounted above and in front of the deck, or atleast kinda like that anyway Im not a pro at these things lol

You can twist 90 degrees with out idlers if the engine is far enough away from the driven pulley.
