I recently purchased some property - everything on it became mine, including this mower. And for the life of me, I can't find ANYTHING about it online. Called my local dealer and they told me the SNs I have don't exist and it shouldn't be a Kohler 19hp - only 16...

Obviously they do. Probably just late 80s? I'm thinking? Maybe too old for their system?

Anyway - I'm just trying to get SOMETHING as a starting point to try and get it running. Manual, wiring schematics, anything....

  1. Can y'all help, please!?

This should help with parts diagrams for the Promaster tractor without the mowing deck. PartsTree - Home of OEM Parts for Outdoor Power Equipment There are several listed as 19HP. You will need to figure out which is yours. Once you determine the correct model number you might have better luck finding the manuals from Gravely/Ariens. The Promaster 60 designation may be more applicable to the mower deck which is model 40185. If you search partstree.com for model 40185 you will get parts diagrams for the deck. Hope this helps.

Second thought - since the engine and mower deck have their own model and s/n tags you should probably do a thorough search of the main frame of the tractor for its model and s/n tags. It may be well hidden but should be there somewhere.

There are many threads in the Gravely forum dealing with Promaster. Do and advanced search from the MTF home page for Promaster and select the Gravely sub-forum for the search area.

So you have a fairly rare machine, a late 80's early 90's Promaster. It is based on a Gravely 8-speed riding tractor transaxle and quite a strange beast as you can see. Have you had any luck looking through the IPLs linked above? We can certainly help fill in the blanks for you.

It's rarity has a lot to do with the fact that few homeowners purchased a pre-zero-turn mower like the Promaaster, while quite a few bought the more conventional (but still unconventional) riding tractors. I keep mentioning "riding tractor" in case you are unaware of the fact that Gravely also made 2-wheel, walk-behind tractors.
