Looks like a belt tensioner (idler) spring from a mower deck.

I believe it to be an assist spring used with sleeve hitch attachments.

I had my suspicions that it was for just that. I was hoping that it was for a 200 series. Funny I have just bought a 1970 110 that it is perfect for. Need to get that machine home... I will post pictures then. :D

Any one have pictures or instructions on installing one of these springs? :praying:

Bummer:banghead3 I just looked at the serial number of that 1970. It is 165XXX Will this spring still work? It may become a gift to my brother who has my 1973 110. Can it be made to work on an earlier 110?

Little deere what do you think?:i_praying

200 series helper springs push (compression spring) not pull (tension spring) like that one. You could use that spring on a 200 but you would have to ditch the gas tank. Roger

Thanks Roger :ROF But I think I need the gas tank. Looks like I'd better eat my wheaties... :D
