I'm a first-time tractor owner having just purchased a Craftsmen YTS 3000 a couple of months ago. I caught the gear shifter nob on a swing on a swingset and now every gear is off by one- reverse is neutral, neutral is 1st, etc.

I checked the manual and a post on this site regarding loosening the adjustment bolt, resetting to neutral and retightening. The problem I'm having is that the adjustment bolt is practically impossible to get to. Even if I can get the wrench on it, there isn't enough clearance to put torque to loosen it.

The manual recommends lowering the mowing deck- that didn't do any good. Do I need to disassemble other sections to get to the bolt? Any help would be much appreciated. Pics below.

Thanks,
