JD 318 Blew Up :(:fing20: My 318 decided to throw a rod a couple weeks ago. I probably deserve it. Not great on the oil changes. I also abuse the mower on a regular basis. What a work horse.......

I think .0005 is .0002 over the tolerance for the crank, will tend to rattle, check with boomer for parts, you won't be dissapointed in the re-build and use JD 30 wt oil afterwords.Onan parts.com has a good list of parts and discusses the rods in detail, but the pistons have to be matched in the casting numbers to be the same weight.
You are right,I thought that was a lot,I have one the is 7 th under and it makes a terrible noise so it is out now, trying to figure out what I want to do with it.Just last year I put new valve guides and rings in it but now the crank needs turned.
