Hi everyone!
I'm John from Tennessee. I registered here because I need a garden tractor and am clueless about what to get.
I have 52 acres, mostly cropland. Some wooded, some gullies, and the rest of it is yard and garden. The garden is approaching 2 acres.
So I need a garden tractor that will take a dozer blade for various tasks, like pushing kudzu away to reclaim land, some grading, building minor levees, and ripping/tilling new ground when we expand the garden again. I have a Troy-Built tiller for regular tilling, but the new section is too big for groundbreak with it. A ripper and a tow-behind rototiller would be nice for doing the whole garden, and using the Troy for weeding, etc.
As for levees, they won't be much more than long mounds of dirt with grass seed thrown on them. I've devised a cunning plan to use lots of smaller levees I can build myself rather than hire out expensive contractors.
I will also use it as a mower. The yard is quite extensive.
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm handy, but not a mechanic. I have replaced rotors/points on my car but that's about it. I'm good on maintenance schedules and patient with equipment (I won't lose my temper and abuse the gear.)
This estate is being reclaimed after 20 years of neglect. I live there now and am a professional musician, so I have time to do these things.
So, hello everyone! I hope this post finds you all doing well!
