To all:
I joined the JD family this past year...nothing big yet though. My girlfriend’s father passed away last year and left her a 318 garden tractor with 250 hours on it. Sat in a shed for over a decade so I spent this winter taking it apart and cleaning. Apparently the local rodent population thought it was a perfect AirBNB and didn’t bother to clean out their food scraps when done. After a good cleaning job, changed fluids and plugs, all it needed was a tap on the starter and it fired right up and ran like a champ. About to put in a new starter and replace the dry rotted flat tires. Also decided to buy a 420 garden tractor and do the same thing...still working on it though. As a kid, I never paid much attention to what my dad was doing under the hood while he told me to hold the light still...now I’m telling my own kids to pay attention. Really enjoyed looking through the forum for help this past winter...really cool place.
Glad to be here,
J
