I picked up a 1991 244-5 Toro that had been sitting outside for over 10 years.
I have been rebuilding piece by piece. I have it running after breaking a few bolts and stripping others...
Now I'm having a problem with the drive belt (Is is called that). Seems to be in good condition, but slips going up the curb or going through a low spot. I have bought a new 92" belt to replace it if need be. Is there a place to tighten the belt.

Welcome scubaga, good to have you aboard with us, congrats on your machine and hope you get the issues resolved. Don't know much about a Toro, but here's some parts and diagram help available for future reference on your model Toro 244-5, you may perhaps find the information you seek there as well :fing32:.

Have made a file of what info I have been able to find on your model 22-14O501. It is posted in the Files of this Group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wheelhorsetractormanuals3_1/
Once you have joined open the Files and go down the list till you come to your model. Open the Information file.
This link to download manuals is not in the file
https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm
so book mark it.
At the above Parts Tree site you type Toro in the 2nd box and the long model number in the 3rd box.
You can also type Briggs in the 2nd box and the engine number in the 3rd box for the engine ipl's.

The product service bulletins are all posted in
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wheelhorsetractormanuals8/

You can also use the Links in the Group to get to the others.

Just realized I did not include the transmission in the Information file so will add that now.
