This might be a duh yeah to many of you, but this morning when my car was dead (left the dome light on), my first instinct was to call the neighbors for a jump. Of course none of them were home.

Then I said to myself, you've got that nice new x500 with a 12V battery, why don't we try that? Sure enough, pulled the machine next to car, hooked it up and, the car (Subaru) started right up. :thThumbsU

word of warning, if you do this you need to either shut the tractor off or disconenct the jumper cables before attempting to start the car. if not you can damage your charging system on the tractor. when i have had to do it i let the tractor give a boost for a few minutes, then disconnect it and attempt to start.

if you leave it conencted teh load tries to draw current from all available resources. this means the car's battery, tractor battery AND tractor charge system. these will be drawn fairly equally, so the car may try to pull 100 A or more from your charger! best case is it blows a fuse, worst case it fries the VR/alternator!
