Hey Guys,

Just got a GT6000 yesterday, but the sears model number under the seat isn't legible (looks like gas or something faded it out).

I am able to make out what I think is the full serial number 03099(3?) 001399.

It is the dark gray square Gt6000 with a 20 HP Kohler Magnum and the headlight bar that runs the entire front of the machine.

Can someone point me in the right direction to a Manage My Home manual for this tractor?

Thanks,
Mitch

If your numbers are correct it was MFG March 9,1993. If the 3 in question should be an 8 then it's 1998.
Here are pic of my 1995 GT 6000. It has a 19.5HP Kohler.
If your engine is marked 20 HP it is probably a later model than mine.

Welcome to the club. You and me are the only people that I have found that have the 20hp version. These things are powerful.
They are the last of the TOUGH sears tractors.

Thanks Bill. The deck doesn't look right on either of those posibilities. Mine appears to have a one piece metal cover goes over the jack shaft pulleys and leaves only the middle drive pulley exposed on the deck (44 inch cut).

It is a six speed manual trans as well. I think the engine code you are refering to is M20QS.

GA Boy, All I can tell you about that mystery number in the serial is that the bottom right of it is curved so it could be a 3,5,6, or an 8.

Are there any known issues with the Kohler Magnums or are they considered pretty good engines?

Here is my deck and it cuts 46". My GT is was Mfg. Oct 9, 1995. It is also a hydrostatic transmission. Maybe the manual tranny ones had the larger engine.???????????????????????????????/

Actually providing the COMPLETE engine number would be helpful.

I don't even know if your tractor has a vertical or horizontal shaft engine.

My database is rather incomplete, so I still may not have the proper ID.
"20 HP Kohlers I list are-
MV20S-57529
MV20S-57529
MV20S-57527
MV20S-57527
MV20S-57527
MV20S-57527
MV20S-57517
MV20S-57517
M20qs-49634
M20qs-49622

Being legally blind, it's a bit tedious to go through the manuals I do have to see what width mower deck, transmission etc. it has etc. in my 1 hour of library access. A COMPLETE engine# narrows it down more quickly for me.
