Well, the search feature never seems to return anything for me... but it did this time. Same make, same model and same issue. I've been having a lot of trouble disengaging the parking brake on my GT2544. I mean I jump up and down on it, push and pull on the black plastic lever, etc. I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be doing with the black plastic with the P on it... I'm assuming pushing it down... tried pulling on it, moving it to the right then pulling, pushing, etc while pushing down the brake to no avail.Problem solved!
Seems the tension spring that connects to the brake actuator at the rear of the tractor had popped out of the hole. This let the torsion spring flop around up near the pedal. I had to drop the deck off to access this, but it went back together and everything seems to work fine again.
Thanks for the tip Ray2, I moved it here and referenced this old thread: http://www.mytractorforum.com/19-cu...ake-pedal-very-loose-gt2544.html#post11804122you really should repost this under your name, it might get more "eye" time from other members, once I saw that "Rattletrap 2" had fixed his problem, I ALMOST marked this thread as "solved"
just a tip.....
