for a snow blower?

That engine is very dirty. I hope that's just red dirt that collected on it.

That's for a front mount thatcher.
Totally abused and I bet the oil hasn't been changed in eons if ever - wouldn't touch it nor should you
I don't see anything too wrong with that. Pretty common actually. Why he didn't wash it before taking pics I don't know, but I agree it is overall clean and garage kept ( look at the parts outside the hood). Hey, at least they are honest pics. If he serviced it there are no worries. Mine gets similar as I don't wash under the hood but a couple times per year.

That is also the elusive GT235E that had the 1,500 watt generator built in. A very handy thing to have around should the power go out.

May be garage kept but he must mow in the desert. :sidelaugh
I should have shown the rest of the pictures. Every piece of plastic on it has duct tape holding it together. That is about $600 right there if you care about looks. I'm not a slob but I would never allow anything I own to look like that for more than a day until I could clean it up. To put it on CL looking like that is a good insight to the owner's habits and concerns. Here is the CL site if anyone wants to go and see the tractor.

The hours are super high, so that drops the value big time. But I looked at the ad and it is still pretty average for a well used 15 year old machine. Would clean up well. Yes needs an upper hood. Guess I've just seen so much worse my perspective is different. $500.

That sure isnt common condtion around my place. Doesn't look like he has ever lifted the hood, let alone change oil. i would not touch that thing. I wonder what the air filter looks like. pretty scarey looking. RUN

I've never seen that much rust. Must have used salt water when he did wash it a decade ago.
Here in GA we call that rust Georgia dirt. Other people call it red clay. I don't think that is rust.
It is red clay dust. Must doesn't have a great lawn. Again, see it all the time. Air filter is made to handle that.
Yeah, there are much nicer one's out there. I'm thinking $500. It is unique with the onboard generator, if you have a use for it. The GT235 is a popular model for good reason but this one is rough.
