I've been lurking here for a while, this is an extremely helpful forum. From JDFanatic, to Mayor, to KHodges (who answered a question for me on PM already), to slkpk, and so many others: THANK YOU. You've really helped a complete tractor newbie understand a whole lot of things.

In the Seattle area, we get a bit of rain. Where "bit" means "a whole bunch". So I need a lawn cutting tool that will deal with thick, heavy, wet, and (since my lawn grows so fast) somewhat long grass. I need to bag, especially in the heavy growth seasons. This is about 3/4 acre of grass.

There are also the "projects", as well.

My thoughts are to get a JD X300R for just mowing, and a 2305 for everything else. A TLB with snowblower (long driveway), plug aerator, spreader, and sprayer.

A question for all you experts: can the snowblower, backhoe and loader be stored outdoors? If so where can I get a good covering for them?

Thanks again all of you!

No snow? Get a carport type canopy, 10' x 20' should do for just implements. I park my Husqvarna YTH, MF1655 with loader and back blade, dismounted backhoe and GC2310 with loader and back blade under a 12' x 26' canopy that I have to beat the snow off of every time it snows. I also tarp the tractors.

That will keep them out of the weather until you decide on something more permanent.

JDGeek,
Welcome to MTF! Your talking my kind of tractor now! Can't wait to see your
pics as you purchase them. I don't own a snowblower, but the hoe and FEL
can be stored (temporary?) outdoors covered up. It is important
to have the FEL on a level ground so that you dont bend the arms. :MTF_wel:

Welcome to the forum. You have made a good choice in tractors. I also think a carport would do the job for you.
