The factory front axle pivot sleeve has the center 3rd recessed to hold grease. why they didn't tap it at the factory and install a zerk is a mystery. Just drilled and tapped mine and my neighbor's axle pivot to take a zerk. Had to turn out an over-sized sleeve for the neighbor's 4518.
neighbor was having hard steering issues and excess steering wheel play, we determined his spindles were dry and not taking grease, It was just going in and coming out the top in a narrow channel. In the process of cleaning them up, noticed the front axle pivot was really stiff, and the front/back play at the spindles was due to the axle center pivot being worn excessively. managed to get his out by dropping the axle down and tapping out the sleeve with a hammer and punch. quite a bit of pitting and wear. Greased it up, but still loose and causing excess steering wheel play. Figured I better check my 4514 and found mine completely frozen in the level position. (had been wondering about the rough ride,,,) It took pulling the axle out, heating the crap out of it and driving the sleeve out with a rather large hammer. Then cleaned up the axle center pivot tube and turned out a new sleeve as mine was history. Made the oversized one for the neighbor's and changed it after reaming his axle bore. Cleaning up spindles and fixing pivot really reduced steering effort and tightened up the steering on both. Thinking I may pull mine again this winter, ream the bore til it's clean and make an oversize one for mine.
Notes: If you do drill and tap the bottom of the front axle center pivot to take a grease fitting. drill into the center 3rd of the axle pivot to stay in the recessed area, Also verify the zerk threads don't go in too far and contact the sleeve. could use a washer like the spindle zerks or maybe weld a nut over the hole for the zerk to thread into. The zerk protruding into the recessed area means you need to remove the zerk to pull the sleeve.
Used Once, literally like brand new.
42" deck, from a H4514 Tractor.
Currently has mulching kit installed, but have regular blades and chute for it.
Have hanger brackets and links for a H4514
PTO belt as well.

Hello all. I just picked up a nice condition HT3813 and I have a few questions.
1. I know that the factory decals/labels are no longer available from Honda, but does anyone know of any aftermarket suppliers? I've Googled until my eyes hurt and can't find anything. Worse comes to worse, I'm...
Can anyone diagnose this non-start issue I’m having with my Honda HT4514?
When I first removed the carb there was actually dried fuel flakes filling the float bowl. There was zero gas getting in. I tore the carb down, meticulously cleaned it , and put a Shindy rebuild kit in it. I set the...
Could someone please give me some direction if I should use a gasket sealer or not when putting my engine back together?
I have the service manual but I can't find any reference. If someone knows where to find it in the service manual that would be great. I've attached a couple pics.
Hi, I am trying to remove the the head and have not found a video or write up on the removal process. I assume you need to remove the camshaft pulley. Am I right? If so how is that done, with a puller?
Also, I believe I need the oil breather gasket which is under the intake and exhaust...
