I have an 8163G with 23x8.50x12 rear tires.

I believe a size 23x10.50x12 tire would fit these rims, but does anyone know for sure? Also if the wheels are mounted to the tractor in the wide position (valve stems in), would there be enough clearance for a 50" mower deck?

Thanks for any advice on this.

I have mine 8.50's out and sometimes it catches the deck when I back up. The 9.50's I had to turn back in. Oh I'm talking 430s.

Think the area of potential problem would be the extra two inches of width catching the guide wheels on the 50" deck. Should be no problem mounting to the rim, but I always check the manufacturer's guide for rim width. 7" should be what you're looking for I believe.

If you use ag tires the clets will will catch on the left wheel.
O Bommer
I have a 8179-G with 23x10.50x12 6ply trencher {clets, ags} with rim turned out and 50" deck and I have no rubbing or touching (tire to deck) of any kind, forward or backwards. If you do have contact then something is out of whack.

Our 8162-T runs 32X10.50-12 ag treads turned in with no problems. I need the extra clearance as we also run with the left side deck wheel on the inside.

You run 32x10.50-12 ag treads? That some big tires.

Dyslexia strikes again. Should be 23X10.50-12.

The 35-G has some 29X7-16 ag tires waiting for it. It already has 24X12-10 tires on it. Yes, it runs 10" rims currently.
