Alright, I pulled one of my model l's out a couple of days ago and tried to change the wheels {tires on these rims are ripped in half, with chains held together by electrical wire, but at least the rims are nice...} and one of them just won't come off. Have tried almost everything. Tried several pullers, heating it up and hitting it with a hammer, air gun, lots of wd-40. Any suggestions? I can't get this thing running until I have a technique for getting these wheels off, because one of these wheels is blocking access to the mag.

Well, you could try doing all the things you've been doing simultaneously-it may eventually "POP" off. Other than that, your only hope is to get a cutting wheel on a grinder and cut it off. But,I'd be persistent and patient and keep trying the methods you've been using, like I said simultaneously.

You have a picture of what your taking off?? Just removing the rims should be real easy. Now, some of the old L's you had to remove ALL the rim bolts. You should be able to take those off, and just pull it off. Maybe a quick knock to loosen it up if its rusted. Sounds like your taking the whole hub off. In that case, they make a "hub knocker" tool to remove it. But you dont have to take the hub off to get to the mag. I myself pop the rim, but as was said, you can get in there with a shorty wrench.
