It is a high price due to the machine having a blown motor, but really if you look at what's included, that value is strictly in the attachments & accessories. Snowblower, complete front drive kit, and mower are worth about the asking price.
the blower is worth about 500.00 - 700.00 here in mn. on a very snowy day...deck about 250.00...just my opinion...if I were closer, look out...

Depends a lot on what their definition of blown is. I've bought tractors where I was told the motor was blown and blown turned out to be a bad ignition module. Price is still a bit high for that though. If the motor really is blown then the price is definitely high. If the tractor itself is in good shape then it'd be a good repower candidate. You'd still be cheaper into the whole setup even with a new engine then anything else that would blow snow or mow just as good.

If the pto clutch is OK (tough to check without the engine?? :dunno:)
that is a LOT of machine for the $$$,,

Compare it to what $3,000 buys at Lowes.

Add a repower, take care of it, you have a 25 year machine,,, :fing32:

I had no problem doing a high dollar rebuild to get my Gravely running,,,

Over a decade of almost maintenance free, HARD mowing,,,, :thThumbsU

I expect a couple more decades of mowing,,,

I have the same machine with a briggs vanguard repower 23hp and really like it i would definitely reccamended the vanguard repower if you go that route. Check out small engine warehouse they sell a kit. Between the machine and the engine your initial price will be high but you will be starting with a new engine and the rest of that machine (with the possible exception of the pto clutch) should last a very long time. Also beat him down on the price with the blown engine many will shy away this gives you bargining power use it.

I e-mailed the guy yesterday. He said the engine has a hole in it. Ran it without oil (he said he bought the machine and never checked the oil level). If he shot the snow over the telephone pole he must have been giving it some serious throttle. He was going to check if the mower and blower both had rust holes. He didn't think the blower had holes. Looked like they might in the photos. Haven't heard back. Interesting machine.

I hope he was running full throttle. I always wonder why i hear so many people running their engine at less then full throttle and think that they are being easy on it. If you read almost any small air cooled engine manual they will tell you to run the engine full throttle when doing work. The engine was designed to run coolest and do the most work at full throttle. Lower throttle equals less cooling and the engine working harder. But we can all run our own tractors as we see fit.

Does not sound like the owner was very smart/maintenance friendly. Make sure to check this machine over well you would hate to put the money into an engine only to find many more problems.
Mower deck has rust holes visable in the picture.
