Hello to all. I have a gravely Model 8122 riding tractor with a 50 inch deck.

However I have a problem, the clutches have never been adjusted and it will jerk your head off when you put it in gear. I don't know how to adjust them can anyone help?

Also, I probably need some new clutch material (don't really know), can anyone be of help on what to use or where to get?

I have never been able to find/get a service manual.

you will find all the manuals you want right here. http://www.oldgravelys.net/docs/riders/

I've never had to adjust my 8123 clutches, but if I did I would go to the link above.

Welcome btw:MTF_wel2:

i believe the 812 has the same clutch setup as the 816.

You can get new clutch parts from Richards lawn and garden in WV (www.gravelyparts.com). I am assuming you have a clutch that is glued on the backing plate. A common upgarde is to use the clutch pad that is rivited on. Call them and talk to them, they are pretty knowledgable. A picture of the forward clutch arrangement would help.
