Gravely 40" wing mower

I left an absentee bid at an auction last week for a 40" deck and the auctioneers put it on a 40" wing mower instead. It has a kawasaki engine, supposedly runs and operates properly, bit of rust here and there. I have to pick it up next week, but went and saw it in person and it doesn't look so bad -- so I decided to take it. Here's my question: what's it worth? Does anyone on here actually have one? And secondly -- does anyone want it? I don't even have a rider here, so I have zero use for it. I don't want to keep it too long and let it rot away if I can help it. Let me know, guys, I expect to hear from some of you rider experts shortly. :D

Don was talking a while back about putting two outriggers on a rider to get a 140" cut....

By the way, couple interesting CL goodies that I've spotted recently:

and

I have that same blower/bagger unit. I just listed it for sale for $200 on craigslist. I don't have a bag or the crank pulley but the blower unit and bracketry, etc. is complete and in nice shape. Don't want it sitting here anymore not being used.
I have 1 complete and runnable unit and a second one that needs work. the running one has a Honda engine. The non-running one has a brand new Kawasaki to go on it. The runnable one is the only one known to be for rh mount. Normally they only go on the left. Cost, about $400.
Thanks for the info Don. Are you saying they're worth $400 or was that the new price? I'll have to get some pictures when I go pick it up.

About what they are worth. New price was higher.
Glad to hear that. More important question now -- who wants it?!
3 months later, I finally picked it up! Who wants it?

I will take it. I could use it too.
Good for you Rich, and GM. Looks like a win-win all the way around.
Better get some Uship bidding! I hear this wing mower is HEAVY!
There have been some on ebay lately. Last one sold for $405. Another one went for $650. I have seen them sell for as much as $800. New they cost $4000 and were sold from 81 to 91. I'd love to have one but they are hard to find in the midwest.
