Got another whole B80 !!!!

After looking, and looking, and doing some more looking, I came up with
absolutely nothing for a transaxle :banghead3

So I went to my nearest source...... Rob, and got a source on a transaxle.
Well today I went and looked at it.... I told Rob to stand back that I will be
the one doing the dealing on it...... It's a 1974 B80 with the original 4 speed
but the engine is gone.

The guy started talking to Rob about it, when I said I need it not him.
The guy came in with a price of $150 for the whole tractor minus the engine,
I told him nope.... I counter offered with $75 and he said no, so after a bit
we both agreed on $100. I thought that I had just done good, got the whole
tractor for $100 and will be able to pick it up on Feb. 10th, but that's ok
it'll give the weather time to warm up some I hope!!!

I was feeling pretty darn good until the guy said that if it had been for Rob
he would have sold it for the $75!!!!

Lesson learned was don't be so rapid to just blurt out that you'll handle
things, but oh well..... I got what I was looking for although not
an 8 speed it'll work :thThumbsU

Oh here's something that I was just playing around with, I think that it
just plain looks cool!!!!

Of course there will be pic's..... I'm thinking that maybe I should go out in a
bit and start ripping the old transaxle out sometime today.

But if it doesn't get warmer here than 26 I'm not, stay inside watch a movie
and relax since I've got today off.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan :thThumbsU Of course I guess I should get
some sleep at some point today too... LOL

Thanks Jeff....

My opinion, don't take anythng apart until you make sure that the 'new' one will fit, without 'mickey mousing' it.
Sounds like a nice buy!
First time I saw this post, I was short about 3 cups of coffee!!!:sidelaugh:sidelaugh:sidelaugh
I was tring to figure out if you bought the wheel horse limo, or were you going to build it, knowing full well if set you mind to it ,it would be done.
Glad to hear you found the tranny. Plus Rob could start replendishing his spare parts stash with whats left over. WIN WIN
I got to compilment you on the concept drawing, but the drive belt would cost a fortune

??? How warm is it in the kitchen? You've got room to work on the table. Or move the table out and park the tractor on the floor.

I've really thought about doing this, as every time Rob wants his trailer I
seem to have it..... LOL And this way I wouldn't need the trailer for most
things I do... :trink39:

Merrie Merrie, congrats on getting the tractor minus the engine!

Thanks PA318Guy, really hope that this one works, like forever... LOL

Not to sure I'd like that idea, but it would be warmer.... and the temp in
the house stays a balmy 80, any colder and I'd be sitting all bundled
up like I was getting ready to go out and plow :thThumbsU

Thanks Mike, I was beginning to think that I was never going to find one,
and Rob would have had to put the Bolens transaxle in it, not that, that
would be a bad thing as it's a 4 speed with a real low 1st gear... :thThumbsU

Nice..... post a pic of the cab Dane :thThumbsU

Congrats, Merrie! Sounds like a good deal :fing32:
Thanks Tiretrx :thThumbsU, I hope that it is :trink39:
