On a GTM 900/9000, was the rear PTO and 3 point hitch an option or standard equipment?

I've wondered that too. As far as I have been able to learn, yes they were optional.
According to the flyer at http://oldgravelys.net/pdf/Gravely_Commercial_GMT_9000_19780200.pdf the 3 point hitch was optional. That confirms my recollection as well. I remember seeing the 9000 in a dealers showroom and discussing the tractor with the dealer. Prior to that day I had never heard of a 3 point hitch which is why it stuck in my head.

Why is it that I can remember near useless info like that but can't remember my own wedding anniversary or my kids birthdays.
After I asked the question, I remembered the sales info at Oldgravelys.net. It looks like the 3 point hitch, rear PTO, ROP, and hydraulic front and rear ports are optional.
Hmmm..., Did you happen to come across the same thing that I did, and have been thinking "wow, that would be neat" dispite the fact that I would have absolutely no use for it, practical, or otherwise, or anywhere to keep it?:)

That about sums it up.......

I know yours has the 3 point hitch, but does it have the rear PTO and hydraulic ports?

Very Nice!! Good Luck!

The problem is I thought they all had rear PTO's and 3 point hitches, but they didn't. Without those, it's just a great big lawn mower. I all ready have one of those.

I would imagine that finding the nessicary parts might be a challenge too, although not impossible.

Anything is possible, but it all depends on the initial cost of the tractor. If it's cheap, I can be patient, but more it costs, the more I need it to "usable", sooner than later.

Does anybody know if the 9000s without optional PTO and ports still have all three hydraulic levers installed?
Darn! It dosen't have a 3 point or rear PTO. It only has 1100 hours on the engine.

Well, as you said, you may be able to factor the actual purchase price into the equation regarding the potential time frame involved in finding the PTO, and 3pt. hitch parts you would need. I would be inclined to move forward. You would then be in a position to re-evaluate everything at a given point.

You may be able to use it's lack of having these parts to your advantage.

Don't tell Lindey I wrote this.:hide:...:)
I wonder if someone might trade a 500 and a 400 series tractor for a 900?
Any news Ron?
I bet he's either bringing it back or he already has it and has been kicked out of the house with no computer. He's probably roaring around on a 9000 as we speak :fing32:

PS Ron, sent you a PM.
The seller left for vaction and I can't go look at it until next week.

...Just in time for Christmas!! You might have a hard time getting it under the tree though!

I remember seeing a 9000 for sale complete with a blower a few years ago. The blower looked like a big Berco front mount. I still wonder what it would look like to see that combo running.
I know yours has the 3 point hitch, but does it have the rear PTO and hydraulic ports?
Mine has the 3 levers, hyd deck lift & 3 pt. No auxiliary ports. Moving the center lever with the blocked ports just about stalls the engine.
I saw a photo of 1 for sale awhile back that didn't have the 3 pt. or PTO. It still had the 3 valve manifold.
I love the 3 pt. lift! (That's my extra 72" deck)
