Glow Plug light on B6000

Is the glow plug light on older Kubota tractors supposed to come on when you turn the switch to the left to energize the glow plug, or is it supposed to come on once the glow plug has come up to temperature?

I don't have a wiring diagram to go over.

Can I just check for 12 volts at the glow plug to verify it is getting power?
Any way to check to see if the glow plugs are good?
I guess pull them out and see if they are heating?

Thanks,

I could be totally wrong on this, but I know on my b6000, when i turn the switch to the left, you can actually peek in there and see the thing heating up....so to answer your question, after a few seconds of holding the switch to the left, i can see my glow plug lights.
