I once saw a homemade tractor made from an old combine. After seeing it ( actually i owned it but somebody else built it} I got the idea to make a toy to play around on from a combine myself.
First i found this old Gleaner model E combine that had been in a barn for the past 20yrs. and talked the owner into selling it to me. We put some points and wires on the 4 cyl. AC gas engine and had it running in no time.Next i took all of the sheet metal off. The combine did not have a cab removed all the guts of the machine and cut the tail section off with a torch.I replaced the large factory gas tank with a red boat tank plus added an old school bus seat so that 2 people could ride. What you see in the pic below is what you end up with.No welding or special work is needed to make one of these and takes about a day or less to complete. When the pic was taken i didnt have the bus seat attached yet but toy was complete and was fun to play with until i sold it to a guy who wanted the engine for his WD 45.
