90% of the stuff on E Bay is rare if it is over 5 years old.
All that means is they are asking more for it than it sold for brand new.
199.99 plus 40 shipping
I would put that at about 60 dollars brand new.
But also that was big money back in those days.

I seldom look at eBay. For some reason I have had bad experiences there.
Unless you are a collector "rare" means you won't find any parts or replacements available for it and they are trying to get more than it's worth.

Dave, your observation is 110% correct about the use of the term "rare" on items for sale. Self justification for unrealistic asking price.

I know the term rare. Been to enough car shows where some thing 1 of a few thousand was rare. I have one of 114 if we don't get specific about options. Then there are the 1 of 1 which is the real rare.
So is their rare if have not seen another one?
Lots of things I have seen that way but it doesn't make it rare.

Years ago I saw a listing on EBay.
Rare adjustable post hole.
It sold for 1500 dollars, shipping was from Australia.

I have wondered for years what the buyer got in the mail.
A set of post hole diggers, maybe a shovel.
It just makes you wonder.

Maybe a Willie Coyote box of holes. I forget the manufacturer Disney came up with.

Acme Company.

Acme Company is the road into my mother's sub division.
She lives at the corner of Coyote Run and Road Runner.
