I am currently in the middle of restoring my 1960's?? something Gilson Brother's Riding Tractor. I bought it from my wife's cousin in 1991, he said at that time that he has owned it for over 20 years and that he bought used from a friend.
If anyone knows the year of this mower please let me know. The more i look for parts and information on this Gilson mower the more rare i find it to be. I have found other Gilson mower pics online but none that appear to be as old as the one i have.
I found this site while trying to find a grill for this mower, i'm trying to keep the original pattern if possible its the only piece that i'm missing. I have found 3 companies that still make this pattern but they want $300.00 - $900.00 one company would have to setup and stamp a new piece and all three want to sell me a full sheet.
if anyone knows where i can find a piece of this pattern of perforated metal please let me know.
It is - " Airline .250" x 1.5" slot
(6.350 x 38.100 mm)
Every third bridge 3/16"
(4.763 mm) wide
Other bridges 3/32"
(2.381 mm)
67% open".
I'm trying to avoid useing a different more common pattern and i definatly don't to use expanded metal because i don't want it to look like i cut up my patio furniture for a grill, trying to maintain the original look if possible within reason of coarse.
