Hello all!

So in a week I'm going to have 1/3rd an acre tilled up in our yard. This area has been, in the past, used for compost (4+ years ago) and attempted small gardens about a quarter this size.

I've tried fending off onslaughts of grass and weeds with a hoe, and have manually tilled the soil in the past. I'm certain there's a trick that I'm missing, something chemical. I'm in Northeastern Oklahoma - is there anything I need to add to the soil to assist me?

Any unsolicited advise is welcome!

Roundup always worked for me killing the bermuda grass and nut grass.
