When I picked up the engine yesterday the mechanic told me I had to be luck guy. For I had to only set of new, original points in the USA. When I asked where he got them he said he had them on the shelf and that he did not have anymore.

Those boxes will make great ornaments in your shop! I have some old Oilzum quarts on the shelf that are really cool.

I've never owned or worked on a Wisconsin but for one old Coleman generator with a Wisconsin 2 Stroke engine on it (little to no hours on it, just sitting on a shelf forever with fuel in it). Got it running for a friend who needed it to power lighting on a parade float. That little thing ran wonderful except for most anything parts wise was NLA, when it goes it goes.

That tractor your working on sure looks good too!

Take care....

I think I should have said that this is the 1250 Bolens thus far.

Looks beautiful.

I'd put the boxes up as decorations wherever you keep your tractors.
There is so much stuff out there now that I doubt that anyone would notice the boxes.LOL

Finding NOS stuff is getting harder and harder, years ago I found a guy on E-bay who had 1,000's and 1,000's of NOS Wisconsin and Kohler parts. I bought a bunch of stuff from him. He did not however have NOS points. With being a wear item, he said they were long gone.

I can't wait to see that old girl done Fred, she was the first Bolens I ever owned. Which got me into this hobby. I bought it on e-bay in 1999 and could not believe how heavy duty it was. 20 some large frames later, I'm still impressed.

It could not have gone to a better guy :fing32: it's good for another 40 years :thanku:

I am not sure if I will keep it or sell. I know of a guy that was a Bolens dealer that may be interested. The will be absolutly nothing wrong with it when it leaves my shop. I have a rebuilt hydro that I can slip into it in a matter of minutes if I need to. Those Eaton -12 hydros would never wear out if guys would change the oil and filter once a year and flush the sump before refilling with new oil. There is a lot of satifaction in restoring old iron. Big or small.
