[John Deere La 135]

I was wondering if i should get gator blades for my John Deere La135se.
i heard they leave a strip of grass in high grass?

I just mowed for the first time with mine on an L120 and did not notice them leaving an uncut strip. The grass wasn't that tall though.I side discharge and they did chop up the clippings better than the stock blades do. Not a huge improvement but noticable.
