Also check that the fuel line comes out of the tank and goes straight to the carb inlet if it drops down say an inch it will do the same had that happen to me on the Suburban 10. Got the line set so it makes a straight shoot to the carb and no problems since there's very little drop from the bottom of the tank to the carb inlet.
