Hey guys,

I have a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 HP engine on my push lawnmower. I went to put gas into it this year and all started to leak out through the carburetor. My first guess, not being a mechanic, is that maybe there is a float probem.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Would I need to get a carburetor rebuild kit or would there be some kind of adjustment?

That would be my diagnosis. Either the float is bad or stuck, or the needle and seat is not working correctly.

im trying to think, but...Ive never seen a Briggs 3.5 Push mower engine that had a float style carburetor...

I would check the carburetor gasket, it might be bad.
