I recently picked up a Bolen Ridemaster that looks rough and is missing some
parts but what I have is still in good mechanical condition.
It came with a grader blade, garden plow and cultivator disc.

The kicker is that there is a very rusty Ridemaster about 70 miles from me that
has been sitting in a flower bed in front of a house for years.
It is missing the engine and engine pulley but it has the rest of the parts that
I need.
I've stopped a few times but no one is ever home so I've left notes on the door.
I have offered to buy just the parts I need and also offered to buy the whole
thing.

At this point, even as rusty as it is, I feel that I could still salvage the
parts.

I've never gotten a call so I have to assume that he would rather just let it
sit there and rust away than sell anything to someone that could restore it.

So .. I guess I just keep on looking but it sure is frustrating knowing that one
is just sitting there rusting away.

Perhaps they consider it to be "yard art" and would be more easily swayed by an offer of something similarly old and interesting to trade for it?

Steevo

You are right, I'm sure they consider it "yard art" but anything that I have had that is "similarly old" I've already fixed up.
If I ran across something else that fit the category, I sure wouldn't want to see it sitting out rusting away, I would want to fix it up also.
