Well heres a new one....it has been very cold here in middle TN 16's at night went to use the 2305 to bring up more firewood, the tractor had been parked near where the wood is stored so I started it up while standing on the ground not in the seat,,,,,loaded up the wood, sat down in the seat and it felt funny...seemed very hard like maybe it was.....FROZEN....it was and because it was frozen the seat would not compress enough to activate the seat switch so ever time I put it in gear it would shut off.....bypassed the seat switch (did not want too do this) long enough to get the wood to the house then parked the tractor in the sun to thewe out ....dealer says to park it in the sun with the seat down.....I say Replace it for me now......

I keep mine inside in a heated garage. I wax it too. LOL

BUT a compact utility is supposed to be designed to be outside. Shouldnt have the issues.

We have to remember that a lot of us talking are hobbiest but there are others that just use it for the tool it was supposed to be.

Should work if left outside or Deere has done something wrong.
And it will. But if the seat is split, and it sits outside, and under the
right weather conditions, water is going to get in the seat and the
foam is going to freeze. Thereby rendering the seat switch inoperabable.

To the OP. Take your split seat off your tractor and take it to your dealer.
I'm sure it will be replaced free of charge.

talked to dealer today the NEW manager says that they will replace the seat under warrenty and replace the faulty kill switch. On the next seat I will have a cover so this does not happen again:trink39:

I know I'm not the one signing off on the warranty claim, but that looks like a warranty issue if I ever saw one! Glad to hear they're going to make it right!
I was browsimg my 650 manual today looking for some info and happened across something very interesting.

Under Service there is a section entitled "Storage". It says that if you must store your tractor outside that it should be covered with a waterproof material.

Interesting...
Got the new seat today but before i turned in the old one i decided to weigh it then i weighed the new dry seat.....the old one weighed 5 lbs more and it was frozen when i gave it to the dealer....so things have worked out for the better i will be covering the new seat and maybe the whole tractor.....thanks for all the comments......seaya:fing32::fing32:
