I am putting together parts for the front spindle upgrade for the 990 FEL.

Etrailer.com has spindle and hub sets that should work. Cut the old spindle off and weld on the new. Then reinforce the bend behind the welded on spindle with a gusset.

The hubs would be the 4 X 4 2000lb.

Wheels and tires I would get locally.

For what it is worth, the one time I broke a spindle on my 990 with the FEL it was because I hit something and it sheered it right off, as the spindle exits the axle. The spindle broke because of a strong horizontal force (heavy tractor with FEL bucket full of wood, dumb operator not paying attention, and a large rock hiding in the leaves just waiting to break my toy).

I have since repaired the spindle and added gussets on the broken one (I guess I am to lazy to do the other one until it is to late...).

If you are going to the trouble of making what are almost new spindles, I would suggest also adding something that does a better job of supporting the spindle from horizontal forces, not just vertical forces.
