A friend got a 448. The problem is the front PTO for mower deck. The part that bolts to engine broke & when he took it off it looks like the previous owner welded something due to breakage. Plus the plastic fan is d=broken & needs replacement. Are these available thru Ingersoll of dealer? There is one about 1 hour away from us. I will post pics tomorrow that I took with my cell phone to help describe the problem.

Ive gotten parts for mine right along.

One thing... what dealer are you talking about? I hope not the one near me. He's been out of bisness for about a year now.

Here are some pics. As you can see, it looks like PO welded the shaft to the plate that bolts to the engine. From what my friend said, it does not fit correctly when mounted up against the engine. I guess he would nee the fan, plate & shaft, & mounting bolts.

The dealer listed on the Ingersoll website is in Boonton, NJ about an hour south and only about 1/2 hour from my work. I got the number & will give him a call today.

Looks like the local dealer only sells/services the Eastman push mowers.
