So my tractor would run rough when going up hills and it recently would throw the main drive belt off when trying to tow a trailer. I read up on here and the belt looks terrible so I decided to change the transmission fluid when I was changing the belt.
I removed the first wheel and look what I found.

It looks like I will need to have a piece welded in. has anyone seen this before?

Had the same problem with a Craftsman a few years ago. They were replaceable items. Looks like you'll need a welder. Not too hard to fix, just mild steel.

It looks like I will be buying a new fan and transmission fill plug ( I tore mine up)
As far as the frame, I may use and angle grinder to smooth it out then bend a piece of steel and drill the frame to attach it.

yes, I can see where that might cause a drive-train issue...
