i have seen posted several places that use of the stp oil treatment in the tranny will quieten it down considerably.at my local big lots they have 16 oz stp 4 cylinder additive for 2.49 a bottle.they also have fram oil stabilizer (lucas type stuff) 2.00-2.49 for 32 oz,synth or regular versions.would this be good for that use also?it just seems more ECONOMY minded.lol

The reason the STP works so well to quiet the grinding when you shift is that it's so stinking thick and gooey you have to plan ahead when you want to put the stuff in. If the fram oil stabilizer is the same way, I don't see why it would have the same effect. STP is an oil "treatment" and the fram is an oil "stabilizer". I am unsure of the differences if there are any. I would splurge for the STP because you'll probably only do it once.

I agree, the STP oil treatment comes in a 15 oz. bottle for about the same price and it works.
