I found a Bolens with a loader The ID tags says 188, would that be a 1886?
Its got 700 hrs on it and its in poor to fair shape has what looks like a 6' mower deck, any idea what it might be worth?

I'm thinking it's not an 1886, I don't believe they had hour meters. And their decks were 48" or 54" maybe 60" not 100% sure. Old timers setting in. :sorry1:

ok heres the only pic I have, its no Iseki My guess from looking at pics is 1886 or ht23 the second pic i found searching google is a 1886 they look very similar

The loader looks to be in good shape, probably needs seals after all that time. A loader is what, 1200 - 1500 maybe?

Aside - in the photo above, what happened to the person's legs? They are not on the footrests. Early cut and paste photo editing?

If it has a factory hour gauge it's not a 1886. HT-18, HT-20 or HT-23 I believe they all came with factory hour meters . but again I'm not a 100% sure. When I get home this evening I'll check all of mine. I have at least one of each model.

The hour meter wash an option on the HT's. Looks like an HT of some persuasion. Oh, and please don't try to start that thing with the factory muffler sticking straight up. You'll likely ruin at least a rod possibly the whole engine if you do. There is probably rust and/or water in at least one cylinder. I would offer 500-1000 based on what I see in the shape it's in.

Well ok we are undecided on the model of it but what about the number 188 on the data plate?

The easiest way to check, if it's there, is to check the engine plate either on the side or top shield of the engine. If it says K482 it's an HT-18, k532 and HT-20 or a k582 an HT-23. My money says it's an 18 or 20.

I say 1886 because it is old and has the square back bucket on the loader.

The data plate was on the left side of the dash tower ( left if sitting on the machine)
also if it help it looks like it has the eaton 11 hydro

Take a pick of the hydro and we'll be able to tell you for sure. If it has an 11 it is a 23. Is there a shifter between your legs? We need more pictures in order to nail this down.

If it has an Eaton 11, it will be an HT23. There will also be a lever sticking out under the seat on the left side if it is a 23.

I think it may be an HT18. If I'm not mistaken, the HT18 was model number 1886s-05 and 1886s-06 on the model tag. That could be where the 188 came from. If you can post a picture of the dash area that would be very helpful.

Its an 1886-06 ht-18 with a sunstrand 15 hydro....the frame is black and fenders and hood are white. Now if it were an 1886-05 the color would match the original 1886's (01-04) major diff would be the sunstrand vs eaton rearend

ok well it definitely has a Eaton Hydro , looks just like the hydro in my gt2000 and my 1668

The eaton 11 and sundstrand 15 look very much the same from the rear.
