75 is a cheap price for a deck, just the deck. so if you can get a whole tractor, onan included for 75, thats a steal
Thanks Hugh.I thought that was a good price.I plan on picking it up next week.I'm wondering if the starter can be rebuilt?its a gt/18 twin by the way.. 77 or 78
Yes, most of the time.ThanI'm wondering if the starter can be rebuilt?
The're not open until monday.Ithought I'd tell the wife to prepare her for what she call my junk I drag in.Starter might only have a piece of dirt or magnet between the coil and the permanent magnet. Easy to take apart, clean, and put back together.
Don't wait until next week, get it as soon as possible before someone else gets to it. I've lost some good (running) deals that way.
Small Fry might be able to put you on some one that has attachments in your area. Thanks for your input! Its always nice to have a spare around, to swap parts when you run into a problem. Its frustrating when it snows and you need a coil or even just a plug wire. FWIW is was stumbling around the sears site one day and found a replacement Onan short block for mine is still available......for $2500!!! So I think $75 for a whole unit is a steal.

You're doing that backwards. Tell her about it as you're backing down the drive with it. :bannana:The're not open until monday.Ithought I'd tell the wife to prepare her for what she call my junk I drag in.
