I've linked this buried in another thread, but for those of you who are not following it I hereby present to you ......

When it started describing how big the mower was, I figured he had REALLY gone crazy and had a 9030 in the yard. X595 is bigger than usual, maybe, and certainly more than you need for a 1/4 acre yard, but it ain't THAT big!

Doesn't everyone need a 62 inch deck for 1/4 acre? :duh:

...and I know John Deere is expensive, but $17,000? I hope he got a couple of implements with that! Maybe a snow blower?

Well, I guess he could have bought a 100,000 sports car and got himself a hot little 20 something eye candy instead, but, maybe this form of early onset midlife crisis will keep his family together, then again, he's probably just some bent freak lording it over his neighbors....

When he cranks the machine, it roars like a jet. The deck lifts from the wind created by the 62-inch blades. To him it is an awesome sound.
62" blades? No wonder it's $17k. He apparently opted for the mid-mount helicopter upgrade.

From the intelligence level of this guy that the article relates, a snow blower in Tampa, Florida makes about as much sense as the tractor for him.

I like it. :fing32:

The only thing keeping me from buying another bigger, cooler, diesel, 3 point, FEL/BH, 7 Iron and bush hog CUT... Is that there isn't room in the garage for it and the oversized tractor I have now.

"Implements.... Give me IMP-LEE-MEEENNNNTTS!!!"

Isn't $17k well into CUT or S-CUT territory? I'm surprised there's a market for a "plain old" GT at that price point when you could buy into a CUT instead (and be even more overkill for 1/4 acre!)

I thought I went overkill when I opted for a 4x4 tractor late last year. With the horrible weather we have been having, I would be in deep $#!t without one up to now. I had to mow a 1 acre field of high weeds yesterday, and did not realize it had some high standing water, until i was in it. I could tell I was spinning the wheels, as I tried to drive back out. This was the first time I've lost traction with the new X729, and am glad I have it.

Isn't the feeling you get when you break traction and the thoughts of getting stuck one of the most sickening feelings?

I really hate that feeling.

I do to, Its very strange to look down and see the front wheels turning and the ground not moving. :fing20:

Hi Toolin ,

I know that article was a joke but , you are highly mistaken if you think the
JD X595 is a "plain old" GT and they DO NOT cost $17,000 !!!
