I got a old cheap electric trolling motor that has sat for years. Well I tested it the other day, and no go. It did work fine last time I used it. [over 10 years ago] Its not froze up, it will turn by hand, just will not power up. Any common place to look for issues on these things?? is there a place where bad connections normaly happan??

Thanks for any help pointing me in a direction

I'd guess you would want to start with a complete tear down, looking for loose, broken or corroded connections. Is the speed control on this one a variable resistor or a PWM? PWM types could get expensive to repair.

If you can get into the motor case, you probably want to check the brushes and commutator for buildup.

I had an old evinrude drop down that didnt work. I took it apart and discoverd a big Power transistor down in the motor. It was all sealed, but some how the third wire had corroded off that Power transistor.
Dont know what's in the MK.
