Hi everyone, I am still around just not posting much. We still buy tractors here and there but nothing like before. Well I still look on the sales sites daily and came across this little gem. A Craftsman YTS3000. It was a no crank in add, a older lady was selling it. The person serving it for her changed the starter and we all know that isn't why it did not crank! Got it fairly cheap and brought it home. We adjusted valves quick and still no crank, the compression release was broke off cam, a common issue in these models we see. I had the kit in stock and we swapped cam and sump gasket along with crank seal next day. It fired on first crank and runs good! Hydro is strong and it cleaned up/buffed out good. Now working on deck and re painting it as well. I did not use my camera so no before pictures unfortunately. We fixed the banged up hood bottom as well so now it looks better than these pics. I'll take updated ones soon.

Wow, you did a nice job on it. That thing looks brand new.
Thank you! I used to detail for a living back in the day. I still enjoy that aspect of the job!
A couple videos of me going over the machine.

Here is the deck pics. It’s a upgraded tractor I think with body color deck. Dad welded a crack at discharge area shut and filled excess factory holes while welder was out.

Nice job. It reminds me of the YS4500 I got a few years ago and still have. Glad Y'all are still able to save a few tractors. I've sold 5 and sent 4 off for scrap metal this year, I'm trying to get down to a more sensible number. Much like a drunk counts his time sober, I've gone 7 months without buying a lawn tractor.

Thanks guys! Cannon we went for the longest time ourselves. I don't have the money to buy anymore and injuries negate me doing much but get so bored! I took up photography to try to train for a new career path but isn't cheap either. I still look for tractors and this one looked clean and easy enough to try. Glad I did, will sell!

Mounted the deck this morning and painted the anti scalp brackets. We needed to paint muffler shield and found reason it’s loud a cracked muffler! I mentioned how muffler shield was bent, well she hurt muffler too. First we saw that. Dad welding cracks now.

Nice work! It pays off to have the parts in stock to fix common issues like you found. Looking good!

Thank you Austen. It is nice to do one for a change. It nice and quiet now. It raining here so no real trial. It sounds good with deck on and sucked up some wet stuff.

Well it was rainy day yesterday but it wasn't wet enough not to try it a little. The tractor sounds good with deck on and seems done now. Dads welded muffler is secure and much quieter, never seen one damaged this way before!?
