ok, i know the firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4 and you go clockwise starting at # 1 on the cap, but does cyliunder #1 is the closest to the engine, its backfiring, maybe my orde is right but its not running right, and this must be fixed ill get a detailed picture of the wiring, guys i need your help

sounds like you didn't start #1 at the correct spot.....it happens.

look here and scroll down to the drawing of the 300cid...then see if you are wired correctly.

not sure if you have points on this version or not....but the points &/or condenser could be bad/not properly adjusted if the wiring is correct.
