After weeks of putting everything in place, I took delivery of my first JD, a new X500. On tues. I finished up a small tractor shed, on Thur. I got a call saying my X500 was in, and on Sat. I picked it up.

I got the Tractor with HDAP tires on the back, 48" mower deck, three bin bagger with power flow, 44" snow blower, and 4 suit case weights.

As it is fall in new england and leaves are everywhere, I spent a great afternoon running the tractor+bagger doing some clean up.

Here are my impressions

The tractor is solid! It feels like a tank. Smooth running, plenty of power, so so so much better than the Craptsmen that was my last tractor.

The bagger+ power flow works very well and sucks up everything. I love the piston that holds the bin open when emptying the bags.( The handles on the bottom of the bags could be bigger, for when your wearing gloves)

I am a little disappointed in that the bagger instructions suggest hanging a couple of weights off the front to counter the weight of the bagger, but weights will not fit on the front ( the hood is in the way). I guess you need to buy a special bracket for the front? I think something like that should come as standard for a tractor in this price range.

As most people have said, the backup switch when mowing etc. is a real PITA. I've only used this tractor for a few hours and I hate it.
I wish it had been left as an option to use or not use as we see fit.

All in all, so far I love this tractor. If all goes well I hope this is the last tractor I will ever have to buy.

As everyone says " no pics, didn't happen" so here are a few.

The shed is looking a little empty at the moment, but it won't stay that way for very long.

Thanks for looking
Jim

My understanding it does on all X500 series EXCEPT the X500 go figure ??!!
So go get it, you're not done, next you want the brush guard, then the bucket holder to counter the blower, then wheel weights and chains and .................................

Sweet setup and enjoy it. So is it just the green and yellow paint that makes this one better:biglaugh::biglaugh: slkpk

Thanks for the replies everyone.

The shed is 10X14. It will be fun trying to fit everything I want in it. I wish it was larger but it fit the space and budget I had.

I am hoping that with the HDAP tires and four weights on the back, I won't need chains for traction when snowblowing. Time will tell.

Thanks again
Jim

Nice set up. I passed on the 14 bushel bagger, the price difference to the 7 bushel was too much for me to justify, sucking up leaves this past week, it would have saved some time by not having to dump so frequently.

the powerflow on the X500 works so much better than the powerflow on my old 210

I dump my leaves out back in the woods. When cleaning the front of my yard it's about a 100 yd trip to my "dump spot", so for me, the less times I have to empty the bagger the better.
Thanks
