Morning-Folks--about a week and a half--is coming up BIG show in central Virginia.....:thThumbsU
Here is the link--three days....My two friends and I have already signed up and plan to be there Friday and Saturday...have a few old Wheelhorse's sitting around...

Field Day of the Past
I see they have re-designed the website this year--it keeps changing as you watch..--If you scroll the green page cover up in the air--that back view is the whole site--looks like in the early morn. First page , on the left is looking at the 'pulling track'--hauling the sled....Looks like somebody's got her flat out there by the exhaust smoke...:fing32::fing32:

Come one--come all!

MU--you and Ellis would 'be in your element here'..-I mean--REALLY!
.and oh, yes sir--will have the camera handy--You'll still want pictures-huh? Boy--wear me out....:hide:BTW __Click on 'gallery' on the opening page (middle top)--and wait for the slide show to open--very neatly done!

...Bad part--it is so big in area, and so much to see--and will meet so many nice people out there--you are dragging by the time you leave at night--but a good tired! and learn so much--when you see the old exhibits and the way people lived--it's almost like I'm back on my Grand-Dad's farm, in the summer.

Gosh--you guys push a serious envelope...... There seems to be a lot of stress, placed on these ol' shoulders all of a sudden....

OK--ok--enough gold-bricking on my part.......
**Let's see--I spent about two and a half days there--along with some other old codgers--, so I may tend to 'wander' at times (mentally and physically)
Is--what it is---:dunno: Bear w/ me--

"WELCOME" is what the hand-carved sign said--must be the place...

Got some food, and the second cup of 'Jo--and I figured to go back into one of the historical buildings....lots of local history in this area--

Well-if you don't want to ride Roy Rodger's 10- cent horse/get on the Trailways Bus, or go wash some laundry--whatever you want to do...

4th--picture is a 'saddle stitch machine used to bind books...note here==on that old Maytag wringer--is a plaque using the name Pruitt--longtime big construction land owners in this area--and actually part of this fair grounds for this event is part of their old farm. Pretty nostalgic.--.They, and several other families make this possible each year..:fing32:for folks like me to come and learn and hear about 'old stuff'

Kuddo's to these guys and the many volunteers that work here year round==it is actually a non-profit organization...

Yes-Sir--I'm definitely in my 'element'--as it might be..--got some more heavy industry in the back of this building....

Look at some these huge machines and imagine how they got made and then how they were placed in buildings and factories many years ago...and think about the people who operated them.....My Grand-dad and yours...

***(If I get too deep in thought or feelings here--someone jerk my chain...)

Same building--but dark in back--

Some of these pictures that I took--especially if it machinery controls or signs/plaques--take a minute and enlarge them and look really good--just so much detail everywhere--makes you find out where your ancestors were doing years ago--

More pictures here---Come one/come all!

Here are just some visual views from when I stopped and looked around @ one point.

1st-pic is one of our friends, Leroy--uncovering his tractors and stuff one morning--across from him (white tents) was the big IH /Kubota dealer....In 2nd pic--in the middle of the screen is the American flag, hanging from the big crane--maybe 1/4 or more mile away..

--.Just huge place/area-couldn't decide where to go next.....:dunno:
